Bharata – in honor of, inspired by and based upon the ancient culture and wisdom of “larger India”, including modern Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh

Composed in 2011, there is a group of mutually related North Indian ragas which have formed the basis for the inspiration to compose this work, in particular Raga Puriya Dhanashri with its semitone shifted pentatonic structure, and Raga Shri.
